1. Like many people, Maria did not plan her career path. Her journey has been about discovering where creativity can meet strategic thinking. This, quite naturally, brought her to marketing. It is a field where she can innovate, positively influence perceptions, and, most importantly, be part of the collective effort to reshape the business landscape for a better, brighter future.
2. She has always felt a strong sense of belonging in Northern European countries: whether it is the happy memories of Denmark or her new life here in the Netherlands. But Lisbon, her native city, will always be her special place.

5. The results she achieved in sustainable innovation on several impact projects makes her proud. Most recently, she contributed to a capacity development project focused on empowering people, institutions, and countries to tackle the pressing water challenges our world faces.  
6. Art is another passion. With a degree in Arts Management, she has worked for cultural institutions, architects, and interior designers. Not surprisingly, she has a sharp eye for visual details in her work.  
7. In the most basic sense, she is naturally drawn to the Japandi style, a mix of Scandinavian and Japanese design. Both are focused on simplicity, natural elements, and comfort. This influences not just her design preferences, but also her choices in books, films, and, well, life itself.  
8. Discovering lesser-known destinations, especially in the low season, is something she genuinely enjoys. These are places—typically by the sea with delicious seafood—where time seems to stand still. It is the ideal way for her to fully recharge, far away from calls and emails.  
9. She enjoys relaxing in cozy cafés. Surrounded by people, yet still feeling a sense of calm. It is where conversations flow freely, and she can enjoy a long talk with a close friend.
10. There is nothing like a comforting meal, whether it is a colorful salad or a homemade dish. She loves diversity and exploring new flavors. But there’s one thing that never fails to put a smile on her face: caramel sea salt chocolate.
