1. From the very moment that she became acquainted with marketing at college she knew this was what she wanted to do. Since that moment, marketing has become a passion. She gets really excited about brilliant guerrilla marketing.
2. Marijke lives in Belgium – just south of the border – with the Belgian love of her life and their dog (who tends to get mistaken for a sausage) Brutus.
3. Yes …. she loves Italian food (and wine).
4. Ever since the day her parents allowed her to visit music festivals, she’s become a festival addict. No matter the music! Lowlands, Lakedance, Decibel or whatever, as long as she can dance!
5. With a group of five friends, who go back 20 years, she undertakes an annual outing to wherever they their inclination takes them. They’ve felt the desert heat of Dubai, tasted the sparkling champagne bubbles in the Champagne region, as well as joining the party vibes in Ibiza. Next on their wish list is a wine tour through Italy.
6. She has travelled a.o. around Japan, Croatia and Italy with her Belgian boyfriend. Their next destination will be Scotland. Must do’s will include hiking in the Highlands, a city tour of Edinburgh and joining in the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in Glasgow.
7. Marijke loves to ride horses and go hunting. She’s taken part in the Dutch National Championships Hunting Horses numerous times. Once she’s done rebuilding their house, she’s thrilled to have the time to keep her own horse.
8. Besides horse riding, she loves to go for a run in the stunning surroundings of her home. This year, for the first time, she ran the Eindhoven Marathon.
9. When she gets to sit down, which isn’t very often, she can easily binge watch Netflix series. No stopping her!
10. She started working when she was only 17 years old, combining her job with college. It landed her with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree, plus a whole load of working experience.
