Tech to Market
Essenstraat 1
5616 LG Eindhoven
The Netherlands
After two very successful editions, Manic Mondays Nº3 went on a search for talent in the Techworld with Victoria Martinez from Shapeways and Hank Oosterbaan from ASML.
Victoria started her career as an entrepreneur at a very early age, connecting small retails to a shopping website. This technical passion is what brought her to pursue an engineering degree. During her studies, she also worked at a marketing agency where she discovered her other passion, branding, and marketing. Since then, she has held positions related to marketing and has also been busy developing her own businesses. She moved to the Netherlands in 2013 where she has been stimulating startup ventures based in Eindhoven and as part of Brainport Development. Since last year, she is responsible for global marketing at Shapeways.
3D printing is the buzzword these days. Under its influence, industries are changing the way they look at manufacturing. It’s also giving unknown heights of creative freedom to designers: enabling them to become today’s and tomorrow’s new disruptive start-ups. Victoria will be speaking about how creators are getting the freedom and opportunities to go from hobbyist to entrepreneurs.
Shapeways is a platform is a collaborative environment connecting creators to manufacturers, customers and business support.
Hank Oosterbaan has been working in employment-related positions for over 25 years. He joined ASML eight years ago, where he is responsible for recruitment marketing & employer branding at ASML worldwide. Core markets for ASML are Europe, Asia (China, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan) and the US. World leader in the manufacture of high tech lithography, ASML recruits the most brilliant minds: technical engineers, physicists and mathematicians and, especially, software developers and architects. Hank is passionate about attracting talent in hard-fought markets. But, to be successful requires all-out focus and innovative approaches to reach potential employees.
World leader in the manufacture of high tech lithography, ASML recruits the most brilliant minds: technical engineers, physicists and mathematicians and, especially, software developers and architects. As the labor market is set to face major disruptive changes in the coming years, organizations are having a hard time ensuring they get the required talent on board.
Take Europe, where demand for tech savvy and IT and software experts is rising by the day. New graduates from university can pick and choose: start-up or established company, local or abroad, consultancy or corporate, freelance or salaried, Tech, FinTech, or social enterprise?
In Asia, the level of education amongst the working population is rising, as is people’s mobility and willingness to work abroad. The young generation of experts is free to choose their career moves. But what to choose? This is where having the right marketing in place for your business can make the difference.
Hank will be explaining that simply communicating your organizational values won’t do the trick. How to distinguish yourself from other companies? By making a fundamental choice as to what makes you an excellent company. Fail to do so and the experts you’re looking for will pass you by.
Manic Mondays is a new series of events. 4x per year, this will be the best opportunity for you to meet up with other (smart) technology marketers in Brainport Eindhoven! Manic Mondays are organized and hosted in close partnership with High Tech Campus Eindhoven.
The concept is simple. During each event, there are two 30-minute (-ish) talks by leading industry experts, operating at the intersection of marketing, digital and technology. We’re domain and technology agnostic, so anything goes! From smart to sports and from engineering to 3D printing.
It’s the best excuse to leave the office at 15h30, to return with fresh ideas the day after.
